🌟 On Wednesday evening, I ventured to Cap’t Loui in Braintree with my brother and his girlfriend, eager to explore the buzz surrounding this chain restaurant. Despite not being a fervent seafood enthusiast—despite hailing from New England—I approached the experience with an open mind.
🍹 Our evening kicked off with their cocktail pouch drinks, an unexpected delight that masked their potency dangerously well. Definitely a must-try! 8/10.
🦞 Now, onto the pièce de résistance—the seafood boil! The seafood boil has endless options from lobster, clams, mussels, shrimp, calamari etc. We got the shrimp and snow crab, drenched in their signature Capt Loui sauce. The customizable experience was a true delight! We also opted for corn and potatoes as our sides and made everything medium spice level (although you could go higher!) It’s messy, it’s interactive, but oh-so-worth it for the explosion of flavors! 8/10. Remember your bib and gloves to keep the sauce at bay!
🍝 As a delightful diversion, we sampled their garlic noodles—oozing with garlic and cheese—perfect for those seeking an alternative to seafood. 8/10.
🍤 And let’s not forget the crispy fried fish and chips basket, where each bite was a symphony of flavors, especially when paired with their Cajun tartar sauce. A solid 8/10.
🍰 Wrapping up our culinary journey, we indulged in the funnel cake fries with ice cream, a divine and shareable finale to our meal. 8/10.
👍 In summary, Cap’t Loui offers a unique dining adventure even for those not fully immersed in the seafood scene. With locations in Braintree and Stoneham, it’s an experience worth embarking on.
