Located on the 5th floor of Hotel Madeira, the Panorama Terrace Bar lives up to its name with stunning rooftop views over the heart of Funchal. It’s the kind of spot where you come as much for the atmosphere as for what’s on the table—and honestly, the views paired with a drink are worth the trip alone.

We started with the Hambúrguer Rústico, topped with bacon, crispy onions, and spicy sauce. Unfortunately, the kitchen went heavy on the sauce, leaving the bun a little soggy. The flavors were there, but the texture missed the mark—5/10. On the plus side, the fries were cooked perfectly—crispy, golden, and addictive.

Next up was the Bolo do Caco Steak Sandwich, which also came with fries. The sandwich was decent and satisfying, but we found ourselves wishing for just a bit more seasoning to really make it sing—7/10.

Now for the highlight: the drinks. Madeira is known for its poncha, and Panorama Terrace Bar did not disappoint. Fresh, balanced, and vibrant, their cocktails were spot-on—a solid 10/10. The poncha (the national drink of Madeira) cocktail in particular was a standout refresher.

✨ Final Take: If you’re looking for the best meal in town, this might not be it. But if you want to enjoy a perfectly mixed drink while soaking in one of the most beautiful views in Funchal, this rooftop bar is a must-visit. I’d happily return here for the drinks and views alone.
