I went to Bow Market in Somerville to try Taquisimo Birria Tacos 🌮 We tasted their rice pudding, horchata (probably the best horchata I’ve ever had-not overly sweet!), Birria tacos, Birria quesadilla, Birria ramen 🍜 and crispy potato flautas.
Everything was delicious 😋 Chef 👨🍳 Hiram Falfan was amazing and truly passionate about his Tijuana-style Birria de res.
If you didn’t already know: “Tijuana-style birria de res is beef cooked slowly in a consomé made with dried California chilies and spices. The tender meat is served either in crispy tacos or as a quesabirria, which is a quesadilla featuring chopped beef. Birria tacos are served with the consomé for dipping and a variety of delicious house-made salsas.“-https://www.taquisimotacos.com/
Currently, Taquisimo is only open in Bow Market’s Nibble Kitchen 2 days a week (Thursdays: 2-9pm and Saturdays: 12-9pm). Chef Hiram hopes to expand and find his own space eventually in the Somerville/Cambridge area. Support his business next time you are at Bow Market and are hungry for authentic Mexican food!
