On Sunday, my mom and brother were able to take my place and go to Tender Foods located in Saus at Bow Market in Somerville (1 Bow Mkt Wy, Somerville, MA📍).

Tender foods is a local food business redefining plant based meat🥩🪴 The meat like texture of their plant based meat is spun from natural plant protein fibers. We tried their fried chicken🐓🥪 and pulled pork sandwiches when we went to Saus.

Out of the two sandwiches the personal favorite was the fried chicken sandwich 8/10. It truly tasted like chicken and you can tell a lot of thought went into creating the texture of the meat. Since we were inside Saus we decided to of course add sauce to the sandwiches. Unfortunately, we could not distinguish the flavor between the chipotle and the truffle sauces🥫 The pulled pork sandwich although had good texture needed some serious sauce to counter the dryness 5/10. The fries that came with the sandwiches were cooked very well done. We wish these fries weren’t cooked so “well done” but maybe that is how some people enjoy their fries🍟 5/10.

There aren’t very many plant🌱 based alternative restaurants in the area so it is exciting to see Tender foods here. I look forward to seeing what tender foods comes up with next!
