Today, I went to Tori Jiro located in Watertown, MA📍 Tori Jiro is a Izakaya/Yakitori/Ramen🍜/Sake bar offering a wide variety of food and drinks 🍹
If you don’t already know-”Yakitori is the preparation of skewering the meat with kushi (串), a type of skewer typically made of steel, bamboo, or similar materials. The skewers are grilled over a charcoal fire - pairs perfectly with a cold crisp beer or sake!” -https://torijirousa.com/
At Tori Jiro we ate their shrimp pop, momo (chicken thighs), ika skewers (fried squid 🦑), Kaiyaki (scallops) tsukune (chicken meatballs), sasami (chicken breast), pork jowl, pork belly 🐷, takoyaki, tebaski (wings), curry fries 🍟, gyoza (hanetsuki) and lamb🐑chop. For drinks we had their lechetini, yamato samurai, sakura ita, and kikori kitty.
My personal favorites were the scallops (so juicy and fresh!), the takoyaki (which are ball-shaped Japanese snacks made of a wheat flour-based batter. It was filled with diced octopus.) and the lechetini drink was delicious and filled with delicious popping boba 🧋
I highly recommend this place if you are open to expanding your Japanese cuisine pallete!
